Since many are wondering what to expect for tomorrow. You’ve seen all of our news in the showcase on Sunday, tomorrow’s expanded stream will feature interviews with more context and discussions with the people behind some of these headlines. Tune in at 10 a.m. PT to join us. https://t.co/yGtVntYWqyJune 14, 2022
It looks like Xbox’s Aaron Greenberg has confirmed what most of us already suspected, this showcase won’t have any new announcements and will simply offer extended looks at previously revealed titles. This will be a disappointment for anyone hoping for a “mic drop” moment, but thanks to Xbox for making sure to set viewer expectations at the right level.
XGS Publishing has TWO games in the Xbox Games Showcase Extended — tune in soon for all-new previews from @AraHistory and @AsDuskFallsGame! https://t.co/OGqAzmXLRq pic.twitter.com/Ukl5psfbLpJune 14, 2022
The Xbox Games Showcase Extended kicks off in about 30 minutes, and we just had two games confirmed for the show: Ara: History Untold and As Dusk Falls. The latter’s unique art style has proven quite divisive on social media, so it will be interesting to see more.
I expect to hear more about the next Sea of Thieves update during this broadcast. To be honest, I’ve never played the Pirate online game myself, its lukewarm reception at launch put me off, but it’s been four years now and I’ve heard the game has improved dramatically over the during this period. Maybe this showcase will convince me that it’s time to finally get started.
The other game I really hope to see more of during the Xbox Games Showcase Extended live stream is Pentiment. This game caught my attention for two reasons: Obsidian’s development team is led by Josh Sawyer, who was the director of Fallout: New Vegas, and his super striking art style. Plus, this murder mystery game strips out flashy combat for a purely dialogue-driven experience that also feels like a refreshing pace-take.
Starfield was closest during Sunday’s Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, and it’s definitely the game I’m most looking forward to hearing about today. In particular, I want additional clarification on the reveal that there will be over 1,000 planets to explore. Primarily, I want to know if each planet will offer a unique reason to visit, or just be filled with filler activities. I hope Todd Howard will be there to ease my concerns that Starfield might be too big!

What games are featured today? We don’t know officially, but personally I hope to see more Starfield and Pentiment. Be sure to keep a window open to follow this live blog for all the latest updates, and maybe even some good takes from you.
