Inc. Magazine & Summer Discovery Announce Unique Entrepreneurial Summer Experience for High School Students | News

NEW YORK, December 10, 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – Inc. Magazine, the world’s most trusted business media brand, today announced a new partnership with Summer Discovery to provide entrepreneurial training to high school students through a new summer program called “Inc. Young Entrepreneurs by Summer Discovery.”

Entrepreneurship and business are not commonly taught at the high school level, leaving a void of opportunities in study and business. Today, most teens interested in learning and experiencing business and entrepreneurship are not exposed to these disciplines until college. Inc. and Summer Discovery believe it is essential to introduce high school students to the fundamentals of business through hands-on activities and direct interactions with successful professionals.

“The Inc. Young Entrepreneurs by Summer Discovery summer program for high school students is a first step in developing the business leaders of tomorrow,” said Patrick Hainaut, Vice-President, Corporate Business Development. “Inc. wants to help the next generation cultivate innovation and creative problem solving. Additionally, we are excited to expand our current educational initiatives that target working adults by building on Summer Discovery’s decades of success in providing pre-university development programs for students. “

The “Inc. Young Entrepreneurs by Summer Discovery” program was launched in July 2022 on four prestigious university campuses across United States:

  • University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, MI
  • University of california at Berkley in Berkley, CALIFORNIA
  • New York University in New York, New York State
  • Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania

“Skills and an entrepreneurial mindset are valuable assets regardless of a young student’s potential academic and full-time career,” said Adriane thorpe, CEO of Summer Discovery. “We are partnering with Inc. to help teens become communicators, strategic thinkers, risk takers and collaborators. We are honored to combine our expertise in pre-college summer programming with world-class business acumen to provide exceptional immersion for high school students in the United States and around the world. “

“Inc. Young Entrepreneurs” will be offered for terms of 2 and 3 weeks, depending on the location of the campus. The personalized program, developed by learning professionals from the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), will guide future business leaders to create an original business idea, write a business plan and present their business to seasoned entrepreneurs. To enrich the academic content, real-world case studies and expert speakers will share practical ideas and success stories.

Featured entrepreneurs will understand Dan Bauer, marketing consultant and founder of global education and career planning company The MBA Exchange. After advising thousands of high school and college students for 20 years, Bauer’s firm was named one of the fastest growing US private companies on the Inc. 5000 list. With a vision for this new program for teens, he piloted a successful online version in the summer of 2019 and then presented Inc. to Summer Discovery and NFTE in early 2021.
