The Washington Capitals are in Philadelphia to take on the lowly Flyers. The Capitals are coming off a 4-1 win over the Nashville Predators, which looks way more dominant than it actually was.

Ilya Samsonov will start in goal against Martin Jones. Michal Kempny will return to the lineup as Justin Schultz sits with an upper body injury.

Samsonov versus Jones

Michal Kempny gives the Capitals a 1-0 lead.

It’s his first goal since Oct. 25, 2019, when he scored twice against the Vancouver Canucks.

Joe Snively scores again! 2-1 WSH.

A PPP. He has scored four goals in his last four games.

The Capitals kill a long PP 5 against 3 of the Flyers in the third period.

Michal Kempny (holding) and Tom Wilson (stumbling) both took unnecessary penalties in the defensive zone.

Carlson scores an empty net. 5-3 caps.

The goal is under review after Hathaway tried to deflect the puck with a high stick. The review was initiated by goal judges in Toronto.

Confirmed as a good goal.
