Capitals face Blues in first consecutive game

0

The Washington Capitals are back on the ice after four days off. Washington is in Saint-Louis to face the Blues, who are deprived of their star player, Vladimir Tarasenko, due to the COVID protocol.

Meanwhile, the Capitals are missing their own base players as Nicklas Backstrom and TJ Oshie are sidelined and not on a trip due to the flu.

Ilya Samsonov will start against the Blues de Ville Husso. Watch the game with us on NBC Sports Washington.

Tom Wilson plays his 600th game tonight

How did Brett Leason miss this ??

Daniel Sprong sniped a house to give the Caps 1-0 lead.

It is Sprong’s sixth goal of the year and his third in his last five games.

Torey Krug equalizes 1-1

Tom Wilson and Nic Dowd looked confused as to who was covering whom, giving Krug a clear path to the net.

Pavel Buchnevich gives the Blues a 2-1 lead.

Oskar Sundqvist brings the score to 3-1 STL.

It was a big bounce.

Ivan Barbashev beat the buzzer and scored in the last second of the second period to bring the score to 4-1.

Ouch.

Zach Fucale replaces Samsonov in the net to start the third.

Difficult to dispute this decision. Samsonov allowed four goals on 1 xG (expected goal).

Fucale is ridiculous.

Buchnevich pockets the empty net. STL wins 5-1.
